JOB SUMMARY


The Junior Project Manager will be responsible for collaborating with other department leaders to define and develop projects under the supervision of the IT Departments Project Manager.  Projects should be delivered on time and produce the desired results. The Junior Project Manager will be the go-to person for everything involving a project’s organization and timeline.  The Junior Project Manager is required to have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis and will work with Project Manager to formulate project plans, budget control, priorities and reporting.  The Junior Project Manager should be an excellent communicator, team player and comfortable managing  and prioritizing multiple tasks.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION


The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 


  • Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects. 

  • Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables. 

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to formulate and execute project plans, including estimations, timelines, budget control, priorities, and resource allocation

  • Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards. 

  • Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification

  • Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines. 

  • Develop a strategy for and provide communications of the project, including documentation, meeting minutes and presentations.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage technical project deadlines

  • Develop and implement strategy for the control and tracking of project related items including issues, assumptions, dependencies and associated costs and resources.

  • Identify and capture risks and exceptions and subsequently monitor, track and manage them.

  • Being compliant with Bank's project management standards

  • Project governance on risk, financials, resources, scope, communication, timeline, post-go-live monitoring.

  • Project - Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines

  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees and/or vendor best positioned to complete them

  • Work with the Sr PM to prioritize and make decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project

  • Communicating with project owners or sponsors to keep the project aligned with their goals

  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development and User acceptance test to maintain the standards expected

  • Adjusting schedules and targets dates on the project as requirements for the project change

  • Must have regular and predictable attendance and work the hours and/or shifts assigned, particularly during regular business hours, to communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and customers with whom interaction is required to accomplish and complete work assignments and meet company goals within established deadlines

  • Must maintain courteous, professional and effective internal and external working relationships

  • Must receive and provide clear, constructive feedback in a cooperative and professional manner

  • Must provide timely and appropriate responses to requests for information and/or customer complaints or concerns and provide appropriate follow up to ensure issues are resolved

  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy

  • Create and save Projects documentation for Audits, both internal and external

  • Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish  

  • Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees 

  • Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position 

  • Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed) 

  • Travel as required 

  • Provide coverage for other positions as requested 

  • Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management 


COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES


In the performance of their duties, all Bci - Miami Branch staff members are required to comply all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1979, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the Bank Bribery Amendments Act. Additionally, all staff members must comply with in the Bci’s Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics and other policies of Bci which are either currently in place or which may become effective during the staff member’s employment. 

PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION:


COMPUTER:

Ability to operate IBM compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field required 


CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred 


EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a project coordination, project support, or related IT project role within the banking or financial services industry.

  • Proven ability to manage and track project financials, including budget forecasting, cost control, and resource allocation

  • Proven experience utilizing Agile methodologies for successful project delivery

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with version control platforms, such as GitHub

  • Practical experience in identifying, logging, tracking, and managing project risks, exceptions, issues, and dependencies.
