TITLE: Maintenance Manager, Refrigeration CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance POSITION REPORT TO: Senior Maintenance/Refrigeration Manager

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX

Education and Experience:

  • BS, ME, EE or PE or equivalent work experience, plus 5+ years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing plant, preferably food or beverage.
  • Engineering responsibility and preventive Maintenance in a large facility.
  • Capital budgeting and planning experience.
  • Must have managed other engineering functions such as project, process, and packaging in a team environment.
  • Familiar with systems and infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
  • Preferred PSM for Ammonia Refrigeration Systems

Qualifications

  • This job requires after hours/on call and some weekend or overtime work
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Ammonia Refrigeration and Maintenance
  • Perform refrigeration maintenance and repair work SAFELY and in a timely manner
  • Experience with Process Safety Management
  • CIRO Certification, "or the ability to pass RETA, CIRO Certification in an acceptable time frame"
  • Good working knowledge of NEC "National Electrical Code"
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints and Engineering Drawings
  • Base knowledge of Freezer Doors, Truck Bay Levelers and Restraints, Building Maintenance, etc.
  • Ability to work long hours as needed for projects and repairs
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50Lb
  • Ability to work in an environment with varying hot 110°F and cold -40°F temperatures
  • Ability to work on elevated equipment
  • Able to stand and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safe operation, management, and maintenance / repair of an Ammonia Refrigeration System & other Mechanical counterparts
  • Other responsibilities include industrial/building maintenance, upkeep & repair
  • This position requires an individual that is self-supervised with attention to detail and the ability to supervise a small crew
  • Safely Operate & Manage an Ammonia Refrigeration System
  • Knowledge of public safety and security policies and procedures that are to be applied to promote safe operations for the protection of people, data and property.
  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining work area in a sanitary manner
  • Perform daily checks and documentation on equipment
  • Evaluate machinery, equipment and facility to determine maintenance or repairs that need performed
  • Track and log materials and resources used for projects and maintenance
  • Perform project management and scheduling
  • Inspect work performed to verify its complete and done to spec and mechanical standards
  • Perform data entry on the Maintenance Management Systems and PSM Web-Site
