The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for working independently and with other personnel to perform preventative and routine maintenance tasks, which involves repairing failures of production and facilities equipment and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.
The Maintenance Technician's primary responsibilities will focus on:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related control devices.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on refrigeration units to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Compliance with company safety guidelines and quality systems standards
- Performing a wide variety of maintenance-related repairs and services
- Performing preventative maintenance procedures
- 24-hour emergency maintenance service
- Monitoring and maintaining all production systems as assigned
- Completing daily reports
In order to perform duties to the highest level, the ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in mechanical, electrical, welding or industrial maintenance or engineering
- NCTVET Qualification or equivalent
- At least 3 years experience in a related field
- Functional knowledge of instrumentation and process control (PLC)
- Knowledge and ability to work on electrical and mechanical controls and power systems and equipment
- Knowledge and ability to work with refrigeration and/or ammonia systems
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours
- Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedure
