Job Summary
The Manufacturing Plant Manager – Solar Panels oversees operations of BaRupOn’s solar panel production facility in California. This role includes planning, supervising, and improving all aspects of manufacturing output, workforce coordination, equipment reliability, and process compliance. Ideal for hands-on professionals with leadership experience in clean energy or electronics manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of solar panel manufacturing lines, including staff, schedules, and output goals
- Ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met across all production shifts
- Lead and coach production supervisors, operators, and maintenance techs
- Oversee preventive maintenance, downtime reduction, and asset management
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs
- Ensure all operations comply with ISO, OSHA, and environmental safety standards
- Report plant KPIs, material usage, waste reduction, and operational efficiency to senior leadership
- Coordinate with supply chain, R&D, and quality teams on new products and line upgrades
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Operations Management, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in industrial manufacturing, with 2+ years in a supervisory or plant manager role
- Strong understanding of solar panel assembly, automation, or semiconductor processes
- Experience with safety compliance, quality systems (ISO 9001/14001), and production analytics
- Proficiency with ERP systems, plant dashboards, and maintenance tracking tools
- Excellent team management, communication, and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with solar PV module production or electronics manufacturing
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, or TPM methodologies
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus for floor communication
- OSHA 30 and leadership development certifications a plus
