Millwright

A leading Glass Manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Millwright with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and reliable professional to support the smooth operation of plant machinery, ensure minimal downtime, and contribute to the ongoing efficiency and safety of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment
• Diagnose faults on PLC and SCADA systems
• Attend to mechanical and electrical breakdowns swiftly to minimize downtime
• Execute installations and commissioning of new equipment
• Carry out welding, cutting, machining, and fabrication as needed
• Assist with the integration of PC and network systems into production equipment
• Ensure compliance with OHSACT and internal safety protocols
• Document all work carried out and ensure maintenance logs are up to date

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Certified Artisan (Trade Tested Millwright)
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering
• At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of engineering principles: hydraulics, pneumatics, and robotics
• Skilled in stick welding, machining, and fabrication
• Strong knowledge of PLC fault diagnosis and SCADA systems
• Familiar with PC and network integration
• Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT)
