Job Specification: Technical Support Engineer
Qualifications: (Not all fields required)
- Qualified Refrigeration Mechanic
- Qualified Electrician
- Where work experience within HVAC/R can be provided
- N6 or equivalent technical qualification with an electrical or mechanical bias
Experience:
- Fault finding and troubleshooting of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Commissioning of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Strong ability to read and understand electrical drawings
- Have an understanding of simple electronic components
- Have an understanding of network and general IT
Areas of Expertise:
The successful candidate will be required to provide telephonic and on-location technical support for the Carel products which customers have purchased. This will entail:
- Understanding the product parameters
- Understanding the application
- Ensuring the product is suitable for the application
- Finding and advising on the correction of incorrect wiring
- Commissioning new plant controls with the client
- Assisting the client with optimising their control systems
- Assist the sales team on a technical level
- Develop graphics for monitoring systems (technical, not artwork)
Other Qualities:
- Must be competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient in the use of email
- Must be capable of self-management
- Must be prepared to travel and work outside of office hours when the need arises
- Must be approachable and keep the needs of the client uppermost in mind
