OVERVIEW:
A Millwright assistant will assist in all maintenance issues associated with the operation of the mill, while being able to cut, weld, and fabricate. This position does require the use of hand tools and benefits from an understanding of hydraulics and electrical equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Observing and practicing preventative maintenance.
- Assisting in all maintenance and repairs associated with hoist assembly.
- Welding, cutting, and fitting.
- Keeping area and equipment clean.
- Maintaining a clear understanding of machine lockout procedures.
- Assist Millwright with standard assembly requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of machinery.
- Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent MIG and Flux-core welding experience
- Strong Fitting skills
- Good Mechanical skills
- High School Diploma or GED
