Job Summary:

The Mortgage Loan Originator is both a strategic and hands-on role responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining a network of referral relationships for new mortgage loan opportunities.   

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop relationships and referral contacts with customers, real estate professionals and local community individuals to promote United Fidelity Bank products.
  • Interviews and pre-qualifies prospects for mortgage loans according to various program guidelines.
  • Orders credit reports and AUS findings on secondary market loans through origination system.
  • Collects the required documents at application and during the processing of the loan.
  • Will be required to meet minimum production goal on low to moderate income programs.
  • Loan Originator is required to be at the branch for a portion of each day.
  • Provide timely loan updates to customers/branches.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and support staff's expectations.
  • Manage your pipeline.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports as required.
  • Perform all duties in relation to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer.

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in sales, prospecting, and networking.
  • Ability to learn and use new systems quickly (including, but not limited to: industry/company applications and Microsoft Office Suite).
     

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • ‪High School or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 2 or more years’ experience as a mortgage originator.
  • Hold NMLS license.
  • Knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.

Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions:

The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Periodic travel between locations.
  • Occasional travel to customer businesses.
  • Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
