General Responsibilities / Job Summary:

  • Develop New Mortgage Business: Build and grow mortgage business, staying informed about laws and regulations, and ensuring proper documentation is handled.

  • Sales and Business Development: Establish and nurture relationships with clients, realtors, attorneys, and other community influencers to generate business. Actively develop the business through collaboration and sales efforts.
  • Client Meetings and Mortgage Planning: Meet with potential clients, assess their needs, and develop a mortgage plan tailored to them.
  • Identify Marketing Opportunities: Spot opportunities to educate clients and realtors through seminars, counseling, and events to promote the bank’s products and services
  • Prepare and Submit Mortgage Applications: Gather, prepare, and submit mortgage applications and documents for processing, ensuring all necessary parties are updated.
  • Adhere to Policies and Regulations: Follow industry standards and internal policies to manage risk and maintain the safety of operations.
  • Exemplify Customer Service Philosophy: Provide outstanding service to customers, colleagues, and third-party vendors, in line with the company's service philosophy.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Training: High School Diploma 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities with clear direction from supervisor. 
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and the ability to be proactive. 
  • Must partner with management team to ensure effective compliance to Bank’s policies and procedures. 
  • Skilled in engaging vendor relationships. 
  • Thorough knowledge of current mortgage lending regulations 
  • Strong computer knowledge and Windows skills required. 
  • Involvement in community groups/events and strong networking skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, sales, communication and organizational skills. 

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mortgage originations 

Required Certification/Licenses: NMLS Certification 

Travel Requirements: Ability to reach all locations within the bank’s footprint as well as meeting clients. 

Physical and Mental Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to verbally communicate instructions and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to our clients and other employees.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend sometimes complex schedules, and details to process correspondence accurately, while providing exceptional client service.
  • Manual dexterity for the functional operation of office equipment, computer terminal, and other office equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity required to work at a computer terminal.
  • Mobility enough to coordinate activities in department and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
