Description

Must live in one of the following states: MN, SD, IA, FL, MO, WI, or AR.   Are you an experienced and dynamic Mortgage Loan Originator and want to work remotely? We strive to provide our loan originators with the resources they need to succeed. On top of being able to lend nationally, we provide new fresh leads daily with a high engagement rate, generated by our own in-house marketing group. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the mortgage industry, with a proven track record in sales and origination.  This position is 100% commissioned with a monthly draw. Will have a dedicated Loan Officer Assistant.

 

Summary: Qualify and originate mortgage loan applicants. Initiate compliance process with applicable standards, policies and procedures. Conducts business development. 



Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Qualifies and originates loan applicants for mortgage loan products, including first mortgages, construction loans, home equity and retail loans. Obtains necessary and pertinent financial data; conducts analysis of such. Initiates loan process compliant with all applicable standards, policy and procedures. 
  • Actively conducts business development activities, including establishing business relationships with Realtors and Builders, service clubs and monitoring existing customer base.  
  • Provides service to existing mortgage loan customers. Counsels, cross sells and refers to other departments as appropriate.
  • Facilitates closing process, including scheduling the closing with appropriate parties, communicating requirements of each party and attending closing, as necessary.
  • Works online leads shifts as assigned.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in all required BSA training and demonstrates knowledge of BSA relative to job responsibilities. 
  • Responsible for security as it applies to this position. 
  • Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations applicable to this position. 
  • Attends committee and staff meetings as scheduled. 
  • Maintains knowledge of all real estate products, underwriting procedures and the mortgage lending industry. 
  • Assists retail lending department in all aspects of retail lending by referring clients or completing transactions. 
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Requirements

Education: 

  • Meet NMLS requirements for MLO’s 
  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience 

Experience: 

  • 2-3 years’ experience in mortgage loan originations or significant other experience in real estate industry 

Other Skills / Characteristics: 

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Team player 
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated ability to operate computers and related software, including MS Office 
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions in one-on-one sessions as well as group settings 
  • Demonstrates ability to respect and honor confidentiality of customers’ personal and financial data
