We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Originations Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional internal customer service while ensuring that all files are accurate and in compliance for funding.

Our ideal candidate should demonstrate an understanding of student loan processing, documentation, problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail with the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and review loan applications efficiently while ensuring adherence to guidelines.
• Provide outstanding internal customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to loan processing.
• Collaborate with the underwriting team to determine additional and continued eligibility.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications related to all Company business.
• Attends all meetings and training courses as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proven experience in loan processing or a similar role within the student financial services industry.
• Previous experience in QC and compliance is welcomed and translates well to this role.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal customers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.
• Experience in underwriting processes is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree strongly preferred.
• One (1) year experience in loan processing or a similar role within the financial services industry.
• Experience in underwriting processes is a plus but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
