Who we are

NORSTA Northeast – located in Cairns – is a wholly owned subsidiary of NORSTA Maritime Pty Ltd, an Australian company. NORSTA operates in North-Eastern Australia and Northern Australia as the Royal Australian Navy’s Regional Maintenance Provider (RMP). Our mission is to provide essential maintenance and sustainment services for naval vessels in the region.

Job Summary (Based in Cairns)

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Planned Maintenance Project Manager to support the planning and delivery of vessel operational services under the RMP-NE contract. To be successful, you will be a highly experienced in maritime maintenance sustainment and service delivery in a Defence orientated or related environment. The strength of the rapport you build with stakeholders and the local team will drive momentum. Your ability to lead enterprise behaviours in an agile and challenging environment whilst exhibiting the highest of professional integrity will be at the forefront of this role.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong understanding of project management methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead/ participate in high intensity maritime maintenance activities with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Deliver planned maintenance activities on schedule and budget
  • Management of maintenance activity schedules
  • Management of subcontractors during maintenance activities
  • Management of regulatory, statutory, and contractual compliance relating to maintenance activities
  • Project stakeholder management
  • Supply chain interfacing
  • Reporting of maintenance activities and associated technical data.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Defence security clearances

Your Experience

  • Maritime asset management (desirable)
  • RAN engineering management tools and processes (AMPS, CMT, TRMS)
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering and/or Project Management (AQF Level 5 (Diploma) minimum.
  • Exceptional leadership and personal inter-relationship skills
  • Excellent written, data analysis and presentation skills
  • High level of analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to lead by example through compliance with uncompromising commitment to company standards relating to safety, quality, environmental and personal behaviours.
  • Construction White Card (essential)

NOTE: As a condition of this role, you must be able to obtain (and hold) Baseline Defence security clearance, which requires Australian Citizenship. A National Police Check will also be undertaken.
