POSITION OBJECTIVE

Blue Sage Services is seeking a Civil Project Manager to lead civil construction and infrastructure projects from planning to completion. This individual will play a key role in managing multiple crews and project teams, ensuring every job is delivered safely, efficiently, and with excellence.

The Project Manager will oversee field operations, budgets, schedules, and client relationships — traveling regularly to job sites across the Midwest. They’ll balance the demands of both field and office leadership, driving communication and accountability while maintaining Blue Sage’s faith-driven, family-oriented culture.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of outcomes, and models integrity, grit, and excellence in all they do.


POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage multiple civil construction projects from planning through completion
  • Oversee budgets, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure projects meet goals for safety, quality, and profitability
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, engineers, and subcontractors — maintaining strong communication and trust
  • Coordinate closely with field superintendents and crews to monitor progress and ensure timely, efficient delivery
  • Track labor costs, change orders, and performance metrics to manage financial performance
  • Prepare and present project reports and documentation for internal and client review
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and accountability on every job site
  • Identify challenges early, develop solutions, and keep projects on track under tight timelines
  • Mentor and develop team members while upholding Blue Sage’s core values of faith, integrity, grit, and service


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 7-10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years project management experience)
  • Proven success managing budgets, schedules, and field personnel in multi-site operations
  • Strong understanding of complex civil projects like utilities or earthwork
  • Skilled communicator — able to lead teams and maintain client confidence
  • Entrepreneurial, disciplined, and self-motivated with ownership mentality
  • Proficient in project management and scheduling software (Excel, MS Project, or similar)
  • Ability to travel regularly to regional job sites (multi-state footprint)
