Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university. In lieu of degree, ten (10) years experience in Maintenance Management, Construction Project Management or Architecture
Ten years of formal experience in a directly related environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong organizations skills, including attention to detail and managing multiple projects
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Inventory Management Software, Filemaker and Work Order Systems
Valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record
Must pass drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment) and randomly
EPA Certification required and license recommended in one or more of these trades preferred\: refrigeration, plumbing and electrical
Strong working knowledge of building maintenance systems, commercial refrigeration systems and maintenance repair operations
Experience in interpreting schematics and blueprints
Demonstrated expertise in development, implementation and monitoring of programs in accordance with local, state and federal policies. Knowledge in kitchen building codes
Knowledge in kitchen equipment repairs, bids and federal purchasing guidelines
Direct and coordinate the activities of the assigned personnel and consulting firms under contract with Dallas ISD. Responsibilities include but not limited to budget, budget monitoring, construction monitoring, schedule monitoring and addressing complaints. Oversee all aspects of the Dallas ISD Food Services Maintenance Department including refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, commercial equipment, HVAC, fire suppression and the central warehouse Maria Luna Facility.
Work collaboratively with assigned personnel and consulting firms to serve as a liaison between architects, engineers, Maintenance and Facility Services Departments to develop, review and finalize project plans, drawings, schematics and specifications for all kitchen design and kitchen renovation projects
Manage and monitor assigned personnel and consulting firms relative to kitchen construction projects and FCNS Department work orders to ensure policy compliance and department standards
Work collaboratively with assigned personnel and consulting firms to supervise warranty correction work, walk-through inspections and final warranty checks prior to end of kitchen equipment warranty periods
Attend various project development and construction meetings and assist in project development, troubleshooting and provide department Executive Director with project timelines and updates
Work collaboratively with the appropriate departments on all kitchen construction and repair projects
Submit performance reviews and evaluations for all kitchen construction projects and Food Services assigned personnel
Manage assigned budget, submit purchase orders, obtain quotes and work with procurement on bid needs, bid assessments and bid awards
Oversee Food Services equipment asset management from acquisition to salvage and maintain an inventory database of Food Services equipment (district-wide) and comply with district asset audits
Responsible for the development, implementation, improvement and compliance of preventative maintenance programs for Maria Luna Building Food Services and large Food Services equipment (district-wide)
Maintain the Food & Child Nutrition Services Maria Luna Facility, including but not limited to building systems, commercial cooler and freezer rack systems, cooling tower, hot water systems and overall facility maintenance
Occasionally required to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds
Occasionally required to work prolonged and irregular hours
May be required to operate heavy equipment, commercial kitchen equipment or other large equipment
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate
