About the role
The Project Manager is responsible for the full execution of the project including safety compliance, conformity with all aspects of the project scope including budget, specifications and schedule while also addressing our clients’ needs and requests. The Project Manager will work with a cross-functional team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, field superintendents and installers to complete successful, profitable projects for customers. The Project Manager will also work closely with subcontractors as required by the project scope. A Project Manager must have the ability to work with little supervision. This includes managing the budget, scope, and schedule for all projects under their responsibility.
What you'll do
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to a project schedule that meets the contractual requirements.
- Oversee the project budget including invoicing, change orders, purchase orders, subcontracts and other financial matters associated with the project.
- Direct and monitor the construction, field engineering and site material management efforts of the project team.
- Will run and coordinate regular project status meetings both internally and with the customer.
- Must negotiate scope and schedule of contracts and change orders to owners and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the project team.
- Develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with the client to promote common interests, foster mutual respect and further client confidence and trust in Aegis.
- Conduct meetings with Customer as needed/required including meeting minutes.
- Ensure Customer deliverables such as submittals, training and schedule updates are provided as required.
- Travel to the project site on a regular basis to evaluate progress, maintain effective communication with the field staff and to customers and all associated parties that are part of the project.
- Oversee Site Safety and Compliance and provide timely resolution to identified issues/concerns.
- Be an ambassador for safety and communicate expectations and importance of safety.
- Identify critical issues and assist in the development of improvement procedures.
- Act as the point of contact for consultants, suppliers or other contractors engaged in the scope of the project.
- Subcontract non-material handling trades associated with the contractual scope of work when they occur.
- Manage Subcontractor work, schedules, and the performance of their contractual obligations.
- Provide project status reports covering budget, schedule, quality, and safety to the management team on a weekly basis.
- Resolve open issues with Engineering & Manufacturing teams.
- Resolve open issues with the customer including monitoring customer feedback and work to resolve customer complaints in a timely manner.
- Notify Suppliers or Installers of deficiencies needed to complete scope of work.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
- 3+ years’ experience in Distribution & Material Handling (preferred).
- Experience managing a department or focused work team.
- Experience with high level scheduling.
- Experience working with customers in planning and troubleshooting issues.
- Experience in coordinating department activities with other departments.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to travel and work on project sites throughout the US.
- Self-Starter with proven organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Oral and Written Communication.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to read 2D and 3D construction drawings.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.
- Working Knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software.
- Ability to work with other departments and subcontractors in an effective and productive manner.
- Ability to develop solutions to installation and other mechanical issues.
- Ability to analyze progress and determine issues in the schedule in a timely manner.
