The Project Manager plays a critical role in advancing high-priority, cross-functional initiatives across our organization. This newly created position will lead and support project management efforts related to program expansion and development, technology implementation, and other strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, the Project Manager will collaborate with teams across departments to ensure projects are well-coordinated, people-focused, and executed on time and within scope.
This role offers the opportunity to help establish centralized project management tools and practices for the organization, streamline communications and decision-making, and build a culture of collaborative planning and accountability.
The salary range for this role will be 80K-100K. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM with some flexibility and weekends as needed.
Role/Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Project Planning and Execution
- Lead project planning efforts for cross-departmental initiatives, including the development of project charters, timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Identify project dependencies, risks, and resource needs; coordinate across departments to align workstreams
- Track progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders on timelines, risks, and key decisions
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; foster a collaborative, inclusive project culture
- Facilitate regular project check-ins, team meetings, and milestone reviews
- Help teams define roles and responsibilities, clarify decision-making pathways, and resolve roadblocks
Process Improvement and Infrastructure Development
- Develop and implement centralized project management tools, templates, and workflows
- Create and maintain a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent project execution
- Support organizational learning by capturing project lessons learned and translating them into future planning tools
Technology and Program-Focused Projects
- Support and help coordinate technology implementations (e.g., EHR systems, data tools), working closely with digital, data, and compliance partners
- Assist with operational planning fornew program launches, helping teams manage timelines, regulatory requirements, and internal capacity
- Partner with compliance and legal teams on projects involving HIPAA, Medicaid, or other regulatory frameworks
Qualifications & Competencies
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within nonprofits, healthcare, human services, or mission-driven organizations
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives with strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience with technology-related project implementation (e.g., EHR systems, CRM tools) preferred
- Familiarity with programmatic and operational compliance, especially related to HIPAA or government funding, a plus
- Strong proficiency in project management software (Asana, Smartsheet, Monday.com, etc.)
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Comfort facilitating meetings, resolving conflicts, and supporting people through change
- PMP certification or equivalent experience a plus

- The office for this job is located in the same facility where RMH-NY provides temporary accommodations to pediatric patients and their families while the patients are undergoing active medical treatment at area hospitals. For some RMH-NY guests, medical treatment may include radiation therapy. While radiation therapy is never administered at RMH-NY, there is the potential for some radioactive material to be present in guests who have undergone radiation therapy. Based on radiation measurements performed throughout RMH-NY, it is not expected that individuals working at RMH-NY will receive radiation doses that would exceed the general public limit (100 millirem per year).
- The office for this job is located in the same facility where families have temporary residence. The building is open and must be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some holidays, weekends, evening hours may be necessary for this job.
