The Project Manager role will be a remote position for the first six months. After the initial six-month period the Senior Project Manager will be expected to be located in the United States Virgin Islands, at that point lodging and per diem will be paid.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of a large-scale horizontal infrastructure project. The project involves multiple stakeholders, complex timelines, and high-level coordination between various disciplines, including design, construction, and procurement. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Establish project objectives, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with clients, engineers, and contractors.
- Define the project scope, roles, and responsibilities clearly, ensuring all team members are aligned.
- Perform Constructability Reviews
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Communicate project updates, risks, and issues to key stakeholders regularly.
- Manage client expectations and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Resource and Team Management:
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Coordinate and oversee work schedules, task assignments, and performance.
- Ensure team members have the resources and support they need to meet project goals.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks (technical, financial, environmental, and regulatory) and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address challenges and adjust plans to keep the project on track.
- Monitor ongoing project performance, ensuring that any issues or delays are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Budget and Financial Control:
- Monitor project budgets and ensure financial objectives are met, including managing cost overruns and forecast adjustments.
- Track project expenditures, ensuring costs are aligned with the approved budget.
- Approve and manage invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor payments.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure the project meets industry standards, local regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards of work across all project phases.
- Conduct inspections and manage any necessary audits or compliance reviews.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, and project updates.
- Track project progress and milestones using project management tools and software.
- Provide regular updates to senior management regarding project status, including any changes to scope, timeline, or budget.
- Contractor and Subcontractor Coordination:
- Oversee the selection, management, and performance of contractors and subcontractors.
- Negotiate contracts and manage the terms of agreements to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Monitor the progress of work, ensuring that contractors meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Project Closure:
- Manage the close-out phase, ensuring all deliverables are completed and project documentation is finalized.
- Conduct post-project evaluations, ensuring lessons learned are captured for future projects.
