Position Summary

The Data Analytics Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering data analytics initiatives that support strategic business objectives. This role operates with a high degree of independence, translating complex business requirements into actionable analytics projects while ensuring alignment with R3’s strategy, commitments and departmental goals. The position leads cross-functional teams of Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Architects and stakeholders, managing timelines, resources, and risks across multiple concurrent projects. The scope of the role spans enterprise-level analytics programs, from data acquisition and modeling through insight delivery and performance measurement.  

 
Physically working from office is required as needed. Approximately, two days per month. 


  

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into clear analytic requirements
  • Document functional and technical specifications for analytics projects
  • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Spearhead large-scale data integration projects, enhance decision-making through actionable insights and significantly reduce processing times
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and analytics deliverables
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and reporting
  • Provide clear updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a lead when collaborating with data analysts, data engineers, and business teams to ensure timely delivery
  • Remove roadblocks and monitor daily tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Simultaneously manage priorities and workloads across multiple projects 
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to data governance and compliance requirements
  • Document processes, decisions, and lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and implement lessons learned
  • Prepare project dashboards, progress reports, and executive summaries
  • Communicate complex analytics concepts in a clear and actionable manner
  • Manage and maintain an updated document library 
  • Update data flows

  

Secondary Functions 

  • Participate in department and company meetings, as requested
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements

  

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to operate successfully with strategic and tactical level issues
  • Demonstrated expertise in Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies, with a focus on sprint planning, JIRA management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to maintain stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project).
  • Understanding of analytics concepts, data visualization, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with SQL and data querying.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  

Education & Licensing

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science or related field, required; Master’s degree, preferred
  • PMP or Agile certification, preferred

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in a Project Manager or equivalent role required; preferably in analytic or data-driven environments

 

Physical Work Requirements

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.


The starting pay range for this position is $80,000 - 100,200 per year. The position’s pay range represents the national average pay for similar roles. R3 considers factors such as (but not limited to) experience, internal pay equity and other business considerations when extending an offer.
