Solid Rock Recruiting is partnered with a well-established union commercial drywall contractor in the Boston market that is actively hiring a Drywall Project Manager due to continued workload and internal growth.
This is an immediate opportunity to join a stable, high-performing contractor working across a diverse range of commercial projects.
The Project Manager will oversee commercial drywall and metal framing projects from award through closeout. The company has recently separated estimating and project management functions, allowing PMs to focus on running projects proactively rather than juggling estimating responsibilities.
Projects typically range from tenant fit-outs to large-scale commercial and institutional work, with PMs managing multiple concurrent jobs.
Manage awarded drywall projects from estimator turnover through completion
Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
Establish, monitor, and control project budgets and financials
Price and process change orders and scope changes
Coordinate schedules, manpower, and productivity with field leadership
Conduct jobsite visits and work closely with foremen and superintendents
Track project progress, delays, and schedule impacts
Maintain strong communication with GCs, vendors, and internal teams
Represent the company professionally throughout the project lifecycle
Union commercial drywall and metal framing
Healthcare facilities, labs, and life sciences
Colleges and universities
Hotels and hospitality renovations
Retail, restaurant, and corporate fit-outs
Mid- to high-rise commercial buildings
(No residential wood-frame work)
Experience in commercial drywall and metal framing strongly preferred
Union project experience preferred
1–2 years as an APM or Project Engineer ready to advance or
3–5 years of experience as a Project Manager
Working knowledge of estimating concepts for change orders and pricing
Experience with Procore required; OST or similar tools preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
