Introduction

Looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to lead and manage projects from initiation through completion. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution and delivery, ensuring projects meet deadlines, stay within scope and budget and align with our organizational objectives. 
The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, engage stakeholders and communicate progress effectively. 
The position holder will report directly to the OPERATIONS DIRECTOR  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage all lifecycles of the allocated project / contract from start to finish within budget to the agreed timeline. 
  • Achieving the overall targeted “GP” as set out in the contract analysis sheet.  
  • Maintaining individual budgets set out in the contract analysis sheet with the assistance of the Project Cost Accountant. 
  • Responsible for achieving all delivery dates per department to the agreed delivery schedule for the duration of the lifecycle. 
  • Attend management meetings to report on the progress of allocated projects. 
  • Management of project files
  • Travel to and from site as and when required to achieve the desired result. This may result in a lengthy time away from home locally or abroad, over weekends or public holidays.   
  • All site meetings between clients, suppliers, subcontractors or staff members are correctly documented (meeting minutes) and filed in the specific contract file with all corresponding information. 
  • Organization between appointed sub-contractors / installation crews   
  • Site management which could include forklift hire, crane hire, scaffold systems, storage containers, labor requirements, airfares, crew travel arrangements and accommodation, etc
  • RFQ and purchasing of critical project components which will include gearboxes, evaporators, fans, belts, enclosures, refrigeration, electrical equipment, various foreign equipment as per the contract file, logistic planning.   
  • All paperwork associated with the insurance, delivery, installation, commissioning and handover of the contract. 
  • Auditing site time sheets with the aid of the vehicle tracker system 
  • All company health and safety requirements relating to your appointed contract will be managed by the Project Manager with the assistance of an outsourced safety partner. This includes PPE, safety files, risk assessments and site work instructions   
  • Conduct regular inspections on the factory floor to ensure the build quality of the equipment is satisfactory and in accordance with exact specifications set out by the tender document or client’s machinery specification.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Project Management certifications (PMP) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management in FMCG [machinery] or light equipment manufacturing [ideal]
  • Someone who is able to work with Budgets

Strong Leadership Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects with diverse stakeholders.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Ability:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations.

Time Management:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Work extended hours to meet deadlines which may include weekends and public holidays.

Important:

  • Flexible to travel local and abroad for extended periods to meet project deadlines.  

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel and Word

 

Package & Remuneration

R40K - R50K pm dependant on skills [TBD]
