About the Project Manager Role

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on residential construction and remodeling projects—from pre-construction planning through to final walkthrough. As the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, the Project Manager ensures every project runs efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, coordination, and occasional light labor. The ideal Project Manager is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and a strong communicator who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules. Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the client and the company, managing expectations and updates.
  • Subcontractor & Team Leadership: Direct and manage trades and labor with respect and accountability.
  • Budget & Material Management: Conduct material take-offs, obtain quotes, manage purchase orders, and track project budgets.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to prevent delays.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work complies with company standards and local building codes.
  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a safe and clean worksite environment daily.
  • Minor Labor Tasks: Occasionally assist with light demolition, carpentry, punch lists, material unloading, and clean-up.

Tools & Software:

  • Proficiency with Buildertrend or similar project management software
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for documentation and communication

What We’re Looking For in a Project Manager:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in residential remodeling or construction
  • Strong knowledge of home additions, interior renovations, and custom remodeling
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to read construction plans and manage job costing
  • Hands-on experience is a plus—must be comfortable jumping in where needed
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects at once

Position Details:

  • Full-Time | Monday–Friday (occasional evenings as needed)
  • Location: Charlotte, NC (daily travel to local job sites)
