This Project Manager, Tradeshows, Fairs and Exhibitions, with a home office at our Rock-It Cargo Linden, NJ location, is responsible for selling, coordinating, executing and billing time sensitive logistics for US and Canadian exhibitors participating in tradeshows, fairs and exhibitions around the world.
Location: Linden, NJ with frequent travel to trade shows both domestically and internationally.
Job Type: Full Time, Exempt
Work Schedule: Schedule fluctuates based on workloads, including weekends, with frequent travel both internationally and domestically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain our relationships with important agents, space sales agents, tradeshow organizers, exhibitors and standbuilders.
- Make and lead sales calls with existing and new customers.
- Create shipping instructions and tariffs for non-US trade shows.
- Oversee creation of cost estimates for customers interested in our services.
- Coordinate the execution of shipments and all attendant operations for all shipments generated with our TF&E Team and Central Ops.
- Invoice our customers in a timely manner and properly account for all costs and expenses.
- Travel to tradeshows, primarily in Germany and handle the service requirements of the customers at the event site including interfacing with the on-site agent while also scouting out future opportunities with the existing customer plus any other potential customers met at each event.
- Coordinate with the rest of the TF&E Team on customers that participate in events not only outside of the US but also inside the US and not just for tradeshows, fairs and exhibitions.
- Solicit from the customers work for other time sensitive logistics situations including corporate meetings, conferences, experiential marketing events, product intros or demos, etc.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience in air, ocean and ground international and domestic freight forwarding, customs brokerage and related operations.
- Must have a working knowledge and experience in air, LCL/FCL ocean and LTL/FTL ground freight forwarding, basic customs brokerage and related topics.
- High familiarity and experience with typical sales and marketings processes including prospecting, lead generation, revenue pipelines, forecasting, etc.
- Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Slack, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Process-oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement
- Excellent customer service & client relationship management skills
