The Arcticom Group Refrigeration (TAGR) is seeking Journey Level Refrigeration Technicians for commercial service work in and around the Houston, TX area
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of heavy commercial and industrial ice machines, including large-capacity cuber, flaker, and nugget-style units used in grocery, foodservice, and industrial environments.
- Troubleshoot and service all mechanical and electrical components related to ice production equipment, including pumps, harvest systems, water systems, controls, and refrigeration circuits.
- Maintain, diagnose, and repair additional refrigeration systems (self-contained coolers/freezers, single systems, and rack systems).
- Perform minor plumbing repairs related to ice machines and refrigeration equipment, including water supply lines, drain lines, cooling towers, and water-cooled condensers.
- Inspect plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems to identify specifications and repairs needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance on ice machines, including descaling, sanitizing, cleaning water circuits, replacing filters, and verifying proper ice production.
- Collaborate directly with grocery store managers, foodservice teams, and store directors to coordinate work on ice production equipment.
- Quote ice machine and refrigeration repairs, recommending replacement when appropriate.
- Maintain proper van stock, tools, and safety equipment for ice machine and refrigeration service work
SKILLS:
- Strong diagnostic ability specific to ice machine refrigeration circuits, water systems, and control systems.
- Good judgment in the use of materials and parts for refrigeration and ice equipment repairs.
- Attention to detail and critical thinking during troubleshooting and repair.
- Professional communication skills with customers and internal teams.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with water, pumps, and high-capacity refrigeration equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:- 2+ years of HVAC/R experience, including hands-on work with commercial or industrial ice machines.
- Must be available for ON CALL work as needed.
- Ability to pass a physical/drug screen/background investigation/driving abstract as required
BONUS POINTS:
- EPA license highly desired.
- 2–3 years of experience specifically working with large commercial or industrial ice machines (Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Scotsman, Follett, etc.).
- Prior experience in grocery refrigeration or commercial HVAC/R highly desired.
- Related HVAC/R education or certifications preferred
