POSITION SUMMARY

The Rigger is responsible for aiding employees or clients in loading material, equipment and supplies in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving using hand and power tools
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using appropriate bolts and clamps
  • Control the movement of heavy equipment or material through narrow openings or confined spaces
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists and pulling gear to move or support equipment or materials
  • Signal or verbally direct individuals engaged in hoisting and moving loads
  • Test rigging equipment routinely 
  • Assist welders or fitters in grinding, leveling and preparing materials to be installed
  • Perform fire watch when required
  • Maintain clean working areas and practice good housekeeping
  • Dismantle, clean and return tools and equipment to proper place after use
  • Obey and follow all safety rules and policies
  • Wear all appropriate safety equipment (PPE)
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • 1+ year rigging experience preferred
  • Basic level written and communication skills
  • Ability to preform basic level mathematical skills
  • Experience operating equipment used in rigging procedures
  • Must be reliable and have good time management skills
  • For new hires, must meet all Performance Energy Services employment qualifications in force at time of hiring, including successful completion of a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
  • For new hires, must successfully complete all required training by Performance Energy Services
