Senior Construction Project Manager

Konik is partnered with a growing construction company looking to add a highly detailed and proactive Senior Project Manager focused on K-12 construction projects. This role is central to leading complex, multi-phase school construction programs while driving client satisfaction, business development efforts, and project team performance.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, lead proposal efforts on targeted pursuits, and mentor project teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PM who excels in both field leadership and strategic oversight, with a passion for delivering high-quality educational facilities.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities
- Manage large-scale K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, including estimating, budgeting, and monthly financial reporting.
- Lead preconstruction efforts such as estimates, value engineering, scope development, and contract review (AIA).
- Oversee day-to-day project operations, schedules, cost controls, subcontractor performance, and site safety/quality.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Project Managers, Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and field teams.
- Drive client relationships, business development efforts, and represent the company at industry events and pursuits.
- Lead RFP responses and pursuit strategies for new opportunities and key client targets.
- Communicate proactively with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams while preparing high-level project reviews, forecasts, and reports.
Senior Project Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of full lifecycle project management experience; K-12 experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with proven success mentoring PMs, APMs, and field teams.
- Advanced knowledge of contracts, legal terms, and AIA documentation.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to articulate project vision and craft creative solutions.
- Experience with Procore preferred; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification or ability to obtain within one year.
