Summary/Objective

The Senior Manager, Project Manager is expected to lead/co-lead complex cross-functional projects across business units using appropriate project management and/or agile methodologies (PMI, Scrum, Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, etc.). The individual filling this role is expected to manage project resources to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical and business requirements. The Senior Project Manager masterfully manages up, down, and across the organization to optimize outcomes and proactively contribute to a fun, nurturing, motivating culture.

Essential Functions

Align Business Objectives

  • Translate leadership needs to actionable projects and manage those through to project completion.
  • Ensures the requirements for project governance, portfolio management, and financial management are met.
  • Review projects against business cases to ensure projected benefits are realized.

Build Relationships & Communication Pathways

  • Build relationships across the enterprise with executives and subject-matter experts to collaboratively accomplish project goals.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to manage and control changes to project parameters.
  • Establish a robust decision-making model for selecting objective, optimal, and prompt decisions for any issues raised.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and communicate issues to appropriate individuals within the organization; Guide and influence stakeholders on acceptable levels of risk-taking within the business unit.
  • Manage leadership and stakeholder communications strategies to ensure timely updates on progress, risks, and accomplishments. Clear barriers to maintain project progress.
  • Anticipate potential objections and manage conflicts and escalations by encouraging an open dialogue across teams.

Establish & Deliver Project Management Best Practices

  • Lead projects of varying sizes including planning, executing, evaluating and transitioning to operations teams.
  • Lead project meetings including managing input from a broad range of stakeholders, navigating competing interests and creating/maintaining agendas.
  • Manage all project deliverables including project documentation, risks, issues logs, scope changes, budgets and status reports.
  • Forecast project timelines and keep the team informed on status using a variety of delivery mediums including written communications.
  • Develops and promulgates best practices with a spirit of continuous improvement and effective project delivery.
  • Develop ideas with the team to apply learnings and experiences across projects to minimize inefficiencies and build robust practices.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on project planning, execution, and implementation activities.
