Reports To: Director of Project Management
Job Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and closing mechanical construction projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members, field staff, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource plans
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, GCs, and other trades to ensure effective project execution
- Prepare submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation
- Monitor field progress and provide regular updates to senior management
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, contract specifications, and company standards
- Manage and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Conduct project site visits and attend coordination meetings
- Track project financials, labor hours, procurement schedules, and cost-to-complete
- Lead internal project kickoff meetings and ongoing job reviews
- Oversee and support field superintendents and foremen in resolving on-site issues

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- 3–7+ years of project management experience in commercial HVAC and plumbing systems
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency in project management software, MS Office, and Bluebeam; knowledge of Procore or other construction software a plus
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls and refrigerant circuit theory.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Skills:
- Manufacturer training certifications (Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, etc.)
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) integration.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
Working Environment:
- Full-time hybrid position – Will report to Manassas Park, VA office location and various job sites.
- Regular travel to job sites is required.
