Senior Project Manager
Approximate 12-month contract| Canberra Location | Rates Negotiable (Dependent on Experience) | Baseline Clearance Required
OVERVIEW
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team. Within this role you will plan and oversee the delivery of end-to-end ICT related projects.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain ICT software asset management policies and procedures, aligned with ICT Service Management best practices.
- Establish and maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets (hardware, software, and licences).
- Implement tools and technologies to automate asset management processes and improve efficiency.
- Manage the end-to-end asset lifecycle, from acquisition to decommissioning, ensuring adherence to internal protocols.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to validate asset data accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
- Track asset usage and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and cost reduction.
- Ensure that the business follows the Procurement Frameworks and processes established by the Technology Category Manager.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and ICT teams to optimise procurement processes, negotiate vendor contracts, and ensure cost-effective software, application services, and/or product acquisition.
- Support the organisation to achieve operational goals through the delivery of commercially astute and efficient category and procurement activities
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
- ICT asset management, procurement, and contract management
- IT software management and/or IT asset management-related skills
- Experience in IT management, finance, procurement, or related fields
- Demonstrated experience with ICT Service Management frameworks (e.g. ITIL)
