Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager – Grants & Investments will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the grant revenue generation strategy, along with driving the corresponding grant development, administration and management processes across the organization. This position will also be responsible for providing project management support for company investments. This position will report to the CEO and/or Chief Executive Officer and work closely with portfolio leaders across the organization.

This position is based out of Waséyabek’s Corporate Office located in Grand Rapids, Michigan but can be performed remotely with onsite work as required.

Responsibilities:

    Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organization. 

    Collaborate closely with executive and senior leadership across the organization to identify new opportunities, as well as create and advance opportunities for grant-funded impact.

    Lead the development of a company-level prospecting and relationship management strategy for local, regional, and national funders. 

    Drive the subsidiary and enterprise-level grant development, administration and management processes. Activities include but are not limited to: application or proposal development, grant approval, and grant submission; grant reporting; and continuous improvement of process to ensure timely, accurate, and compelling submissions. 

    Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and key stakeholders across the organization. 

    Work with the internal investment team to balance grant funding and internal investment synergies.

    Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous standards, policies, and procedures to ensure successful achievement of goals and compliance with grant requirements and regulations.

    Provide project management support for company investments, including managing workplans, executing key tasks, and elevating risks and/or barriers in a timely and appropriate manner.

    Maintain records and KPIs related to grant pipelines and performance.

    Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, creative writing or a related area. 

    Proven track record of establishing and leading enterprise level initiatives and mapping out funding needs across multiple and diverse industry organizations.

    A minimum of three years of experience in grant writing with some or all supporting for-profit businesses. 

    Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process, and grant management tools.

    Prior experience collaborating with one or multiple funders to develop programmatic solutions.

    Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources. 

    Ability to handle confidential matters with the utmost integrity.

    Prior experience working within complicated and intricate organizational and political structures that have many diverse groups of stakeholders, including proven track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders across career level.

    Prior experience establishing and maintaining operational processes and procedures for small-medium sized office.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities, and relationships.

    Advanced proficiency in project management with proven track record of holding team members accountable to project deadlines and identifying areas in need of support.

    Exceptional organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.

    Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.

    Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and solve problems to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.

    Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.

    Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

    Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.
