GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Pole Rig Operators are responsible for operating servicing rigs, wellheads, and other equipment used in the extraction of
oil, natural gas, or minerals. They monitor gauges and indicators to ensure that everything is running smoothly and safely.
Rig operators must be able to multitask effectively while paying close attention to detail.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Responsible for pre and post-trip inspections of trucks.
Know how to operate their type of rig.
Mobilize the truck from location to location.
Assemble/disassemble servicing rigs.
Work with ground assistants.
Must comply with all company, customer, and industry policies and procedures.
To include all PPE requirements, safety policies, and safe work practices. No exceptions.
Be knowledgeable in pulling pipe, swabbing, rig weight limits, rigging up and down, rig hand placement, and filling out daily
field tickets.
Knowledgeable in rig safety procedures.
Must be dependable, trustworthy, have a positive attitude, and work well with others.
Must be willing to work flexible hours meeting a demanding schedule.
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to communicate; speak, understand, read, and write effectively in English.
Required to work outdoors in all weather conditions and engage in strenuous physical activity.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Experience:
2 years plus experience preferred with pole truck/bed truck.
CDL B license with a clean record (insurable).
Current DOT physical.
Oil and gas industry training a plus, ie. Safeland, OSHA, Equipment Operator cards, H2S awareness, and other related
certifications/education and or training.
Other:
Ability to perform manual labor required to operate well servicing equipment
Competent communication, people, and leadership skills
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule
KEY COMPETENCIES
Oil and gas industry training a plus, ie. Safeland, OSHA, Equipment Operator cards, H2S awareness, and other related
certifications/education and or training
Basic knowledge of MS Office preferred
