At the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, we may not be developing swords against the dark side of the Force, but our developments often sound like science fiction. This is because we are shaping the technologies and processes for the future of digital production, packaging and scanning technology and many other laser-based applications, e.g. 3D printing and laser fusion.
Are you looking for an exciting job as a student assistant (m/f/d) in the field of laser drilling of recycling filters that will change the future? Then become part of our #OneTeam.
You will support our team in planning, setting up and conducting experiments to further develop laser drilling processes for recycling filters. These filters consist of stainless steel plates with over 100,000 micrometre-sized holes through which melted plastic is pressed in the recycling process. Foreign matter such as wood or metal is separated out in the process.
Your work will focus on optimising laser beam drilling - by using different laser systems, optics and varying process parameters. You will also use high-speed camera recordings to analyse the melt ejection and its influence on the surface quality of the workpiece.
