Key Responsibilities
As the Technical Sales Representative, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the drilling and mining industries in the Mid-West. Your responsibilities will include:
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow sales in mineral exploration, construction drilling, and percussive mining.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, distributors, and mine/quarry personnel.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value and capabilities of our clientās drilling solutions.
- Work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Sales Execution & Performance Management:
- Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales targets through strategic planning and execution.
- Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and territory goal planning to drive business growth.
- Technical Support & Market Analysis:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance product offerings and address customer feedback.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
- Education & Experience:
- A Bachelorās degree in Mining, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of outside sales or account management experience in the drilling or mining industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of mineral exploration, construction drilling, and percussive mining.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Key Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to create, present, and communicate compelling sales proposals.
- Additional Requirements:
- A valid driverās license with a good driving record.
- Availability to travel at least 50% of the time to meet with clients and attend industry events.
