Job Description Summary
The Aero Tendering and Project Manager (TPM) is a wing to wing execution leader for execution of Aero equipment and Turnkey contracts. The TPM is accountable for implementing the technical strategy of Aero equipment and power plants proposals including contractual scope, schedule, and project cost definition in collaboration with the Sales Manager and Commercial Leader and leading a cross functional execution team to manage contract fulfillment to deliver on time and within allocated budget. The TPM will manage deliverables from cross functional team during ITO and OTR phases of the project and serve as a single point of contact for the project lifecycle.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Development and execution of the Aero technical proposal strategy
- Define tender timelines including deliverables and complete internal reviews
- Review tender requirements to identify SOW and define deliverables for tendering team.
- Serves as a customer interface to ensure timely closure of the technical issues/ clarifications.
- Manage and own deal partner relationship including development and management of Division of Responsibility (DOR).
- Manage and own technical negotiations and contractual definition for agreement with partner/EPC firms.
- Coordinating with commercial managers/proposal leaders to review and finalize technical contract documentation for EPC consortium agreements.
- Formulate and own overall project execution strategy to ensure on time and on budget delivery.
- Own EPC/Partner I&C schedule development and optimization.
- Manage C&C and Partnering outcome for the tender.
- Work with C&C and Partnering tendering team to deliver execution solution for the tender.
- Own EPC and/or Partner’s scope, cost, and schedule for the tender.
- Deliver C&C related cost, schedule and man loading.
- Participate in tendering cost reviews with sales, C&C and ITR leadership
- Manage senior leadership reviews for scope, cost, schedule and risk-mitigation alignment
- Leads a core team on the Project consisting of the Planner, Scheduler, Cost Analyst, and Cost Out Manager to fulfill the Project Delivery and Cost targets.
- Drives operating rhythms as necessary with the core tendering team and other Project Team members (PM, CM, PFM, PEs, PPMs, LPMs, PQMs, C&C) to address challenges, risks and opportunities, ensuring there are clear strategies and actions to resolution during tendering and execution phase of the project.
- Leverage lessons learned from other similar projects to identify and assess scope and risks on the Project bid/proposal and provide feedback to tendering team.
- Ensure appropriate management, customer and supplier involvement throughout the life of the project.
- Ensures compliance with business directives, processes and EHS standards.
- Participates in all Readiness Release, Advance Release, and Full Release Meetings.
- Review the Key Handover Documents with execution team and collaborate on strategizing and documenting the cost and schedule risks for the Project.
- Assembles the project team at launch to introduce the cross-functional team members, set project launch schedule and review the key Project risks, opportunities, and assumptions for execution related to delivery and cost.
- Perform proper risk and opportunity management, establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating mitigation action.
- Lead and own management reviews for the Delivery & Cost KPIs.
- Establish a disciplined change management process for the Project to ensure the team captures and assesses all deviations and variances impacting cost & cycle.
- For customer change orders, gathers inputs on cost and schedule impact from the relevant functions, assess options, and track implementation of change.
- Works with the cross-functional team to follow through on the Project's Cost Out initiatives to implementation, assessing progress during execution against cost savings targets and escalating to leadership team to resolve critical issues.
- Develops and executes a Project plan to track RevRec and Payment Milestones. Initiate and execute gate reviews, prepare and perform senior management project reviews as requested
- Conduct progress review meetings with customer (and/or partners and/or main subcontractors)
- Perform negotiations and develop effective claim strategies with customers (and/or partners and/or main subcontractors)
- Provide input justification for project costs and budget impacts
- Establish and publish clear priorities among project activities
- Influence selection of team members with responsible line function, establish and publish clear priorities among project activities.
- Determine what constitutes successful acceptance conditions for all parties such as but not limited to customer and/or partners and main subcontractors. Gain acceptance and sign-off by all parties.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical) or in Business management
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Project management, Construction management or Tendering Management.
- Technical understanding with commercial background in power or industrial segment.
- Understanding of power plant operation and key components.
- Proven analytical skill set and strategic mindset.
- Strong grasp of power plant economics.
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to work with global team.
- Fluent in English.
