Underground Core Driller (Exploration Drilling) – Tanzania

Role Overview

Our client, an established international mining company operating in Tanzania, is seeking an experienced Underground Core Driller to support ongoing exploration drilling programmes. This role is critical to the delivery of high-quality core samples to support geological interpretation and resource development. (FIFO / Expat Assignment) – Fixed Term Contract

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct underground core exploration drilling (NQ, HQ and PQ) to depths of 100–300 metres
• Safely set up, operate and shut down underground diamond drill rigs
• Achieve daily production targets of minimum 25 metres per shift
• Perform routine drill rig inspections, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
• Handle core barrels, rods and tooling, including bit and rod sharpening
• Ensure accurate core recovery, orientation and quality control
• Maintain accurate daily drilling logs, footage reports and downtime records
• Adhere to all underground safety, health and environmental standards
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, geologists and support crews

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ underground core drilling experience (exploration environment)
• Proven experience with NQ, HQ and PQ core drilling (mandatory)
• Valid underground safety certification (II electrical safety group or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of underground drilling best practices and safety protocols
• Ability to work extended rotations in a remote mining environment
