Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Technician

JOB PURPOSE

JVM Solutions is hiring Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Technicians to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on various VRF systems in San Antonio, TX. The VRF Technicians will be responsible for maintaining operational readiness of HVAC equipment across multiple locations and supporting training efforts for government personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

· Perform start-up, charging, commissioning, and maintenance of VRF systems across JBSA.

· Conduct performance analysis, electrical inspections, refrigerant checks, operational status evaluations, and fault diagnostics.

· Replace compressors, motors, and other major VRF components.

· Update firmware and reprogram control settings as required by manufacturer specifications.

· Submit detailed repair quotes, including labor and material breakdowns, within 10 days of deficiency discovery.

· Maintain accurate maintenance logs and submit weekly reports summarizing activities.

· Support emergency repair services with 24/7 availability and on-site response within 2 hours when notified.

· Provide mentorship or shadowing opportunities to HVAC technicians during maintenance tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Journeyman HVAC license.

· Manufacturer-specific certifications for at least one or more VRF systems (e.g., Daikin, York, LG, Mitsubishi, Trane, Sanyo).

· EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.

· Experience with VRF systems in a field service capacity.

· Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
