Job Description:
Responsible for identifying and securing profitable opportunities for buying and selling energy commodities. This involves analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts, and establishing relationships with suppliers and customers to optimize trading strategies and maximize profits.
Responsibilities
Sourcing power opportunities in supply, market, or capacity which generate accretive value for the organization
Build and maintain profitable relationships in the West power market
Identify and close structured transactions by fostering them across the organization to ensure organizational support
Lead and participate in all business planning and strategic initiatives in the West power region
Regionally direct commercial market value
Create and maintain hedging relationships with external businesses with a focus on end- users and generator clients
Develop an executive business plan to optimize EDFT resources and expertise
Ensuring compliance with the Business Transaction Policy
Track, evaluate, and report regional performance
Requirements & Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other Business concentration is required, an Advanced degree preferred
A minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible power experience in deal structuring and interaction with customers across the spectrum from production to consumption
Demonstrated ability to consistently produce P&L
Proven track record of innovation, creativity, and success in closing customer business
Able to understand and adjust to changing market conditions
Self-motivated, team player, which is able to work in an open trade floor environment
Proven ability to influence others
