Job Description:
Position Summary
This is a critical leadership role, instrumental to leading a multi-million-dollar project in the Plano, Texas area, supporting roadway and facility maintenance and operations. Please apply, only if you have related experience.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a large tollway maintenance contract to ensure the standards of the contract are met in a cost-effective, safe, and efficient manner. The position is also widely accountable for the budget, crews, safety, and client relationship, assigned to the contract. The Project Manager is the main point of contact for the client and is instrumental to successfully delivery of this contract and achieving contractual renewal terms.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides structure, support, administrative systems and methodologies to meet contract obligations in relation to quality, safety, contractor agreements, procurement, cost control, scheduling, and estimating management processes and procedures.
- Ensures that operations of the toll road network, its crews, performance, maintenance, and facility management service goals are successfully met.
- Proactively responds to issues that impact contract requirements and facilitates solutions in timely manner; share methodologies that will bring about improvements systemically.
- Organizes, directs, manages, and coordinates the project team members to build teamwork and positive morale and ensure high performance.
- Establishes, grows, and maintains effective relations with the Client, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Oversees planning, estimating, procurement, and financial responsibilities to optimize cost/benefit.
- Interfaces with internal and external teams, managing regulatory and Fire/Life/Safety teams, as required by the contract.
- Manages and reports on financial performance, conducts financial analysis, and prepares performance information and recommendations for incorporation into the periodic reports to management.
- Monitors contract and project compliance with the company's policies and procedures in relation to legal, financial, safety, and administration matters.
- Establishes and reports appropriate metrics for measuring contract performance.
- The Project Manager will be the key point of contact for the Client and shall be available to respond on-site within one (1) hour of being notified, twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week, 365 days per year, including holidays.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge in asset management of road and facility maintenance, repairs, and operations.
- Ability to coordinate and plan effectively across many operational teams and crews and performance metrics.
- Ability to provide strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills in data, reports, and presentations.
- Ability to provide strong leadership and manage and organize multiple priorities, with a focus on customer service and contract compliance.
- Skilled in emotional intelligence with the ability to manage, and coach employees across all levels and ensure a healthy culture and environment, within both behavioral and performance related areas.
- Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and adjust to avoid loss, injury, or accident.
- Must be able to communicate with co-workers' safety instructions, hold others accountable for any incidents, and provide necessary training.
- Must be able to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tools and equipment, driving, or operating equipment.
- Must be able to support this project in a 24/7 capacity (i.e., holidays, nights/ evenings, weekends, responsive to high-risk incidents on the roadway) as needed per business.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree highly preferred but will accept years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Professional Engineering License (Highly desired but not required)
- Engineering and/or MS Office software proficiency, including Microsoft word and excel, as well as CMMS applications specific to DataStream (MP2) / INFOR (EAM)
- 10 plus years industry experience in Maintenance/ Operations of large asset facility and roadway maintenance projects - Required
- Supervisory experience across large teams - Required
- Snow and Ice experience (highly desired)
- Interstate and/or tollway experience (highly desired)
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- Office and Field Environment in heat and cold - indoor and outdoor.
- 10% travel.
- Working from heights.
- Working in tight spaces.
- Working in traffic, on or around roads
- Minimal reaching, bending, squatting, walking, climbing.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to manage and operate basic office equipment such as laptop, phone, scanner, printer, etc.
