WTR Search - Renewables is searching for a Wind Turbine Support Specialist to serve as a technical and procedural subject matter expert on wind turbine electrical and mechanical systems. This position identifies technical issues, develops solutions through troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis, and provides training to site personnel, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
This role is located near Dallas, TX. Relocation assistance is available if needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support both on-site and remotely to optimize equipment availability
- Support preventative maintenance programs designed for efficiency and reliability
- Perform operational trend analysis to recommend improvements and identify product defects
- Provide technician training to share best practices across locations
- Provide process development support for long-term facility performance
- Complete accurate documentation and reporting to assist internal and external stakeholders
Required Skills and Competencies
- Must have 7+ years of experience as a wind technician with expertise in providing technical support
- Highly skilled wind energy professional with expertise in troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
- Hands-on expertise with AW3000 and AW1500 turbine platforms (Gamesa G8x experience is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
- Proficient in medium and high-voltage equipment handling
- Leadership and coordination skills with excellent communication and organization
Other Requirements
- Engineering Degree is required
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally 40% of the time
- Software proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Maximo experience is a plus)
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to pass required screenings
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
