Job Summary:
Associate Project Managers are responsible for managing all aspects of turnkey lighting retrofit projects for existing medium to large national retail and commercial customers. Associate Project Managers will be responsible for the day-to-day processes of managing project execution. This role will ensure customers have the best overall level of service to achieve the established goals associated with the scope of work for each project. Associate Project Managers will play a central role in shaping company-wide lighting recommendations and standard practices.
Essential Job Functions:
- Execute defined plan and manage labor partners to support effective project requirements for assigned locations.
- Identify and recommend incremental project resource needs to project manager to address unanticipated scope or deadline changes.
- Ensure assigned projects are performed in a quality manner, on time, and on budget.
- Leverage project management tools by updating data and leveraging analytics.
- Share process improvement ideas with manager to support broader organization quality initiatives.
- Execute quality and go-back tactics.
- Track performance of labor partners to support vendor management strategy.
- Support methods to track financial performance for assigned projects.
- Solve problems associated with project issues and manage customer concerns. Escalate and inform project manager, as needed.
- Collaborate with solutions management team and other project managers to ensure smooth handoffs and teamwork.
- Support providing internal and external communication on overall project management progress for assigned projects.
- Demonstrate customer advocacy mentality and professionalism.
- Develop and build relationships with key customers.
- Perform individual development and achieve position-based goals as agreed to with manager.
- Support strategic plan to help achieve company goals.
- Understand and act in inputting information into EMC systems.
- Support in the development of project execution plans.
- Flexibility to assist Project Coordinators as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to convey complex topics clearly and succinctly to people with widely varying degrees of technological knowledge and backgrounds

- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience presenting project plans to customers.

Education:
- Four-year degree preferred in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or Related degree or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
- 1-3 years of project management for high volume and multi-unit project situations.
- Experience managing labor partners/subcontractors.
Experience Preferred/Other Qualifications:
- Lighting, Electrical, and LED technical knowledge
- Lighting project management (industrial, commercial, retail, others)
- Facilities or retail operations
Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Project Managers are often supporting customers and partners during “off hours” and, therefore, are expected to be available for support on some weekends and evenings/nights.
- Ability to travel up to 40%, may require extended on site project management.
- The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
