Job Description: Bidding:

  • Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals and other documents.
  • Prioritize and organize deadlines for bids, determine and develop general project conditions.
  • Set up Project: determine the appropriate bid divisions.
  • On-site Meetings: meet with potential bidders on job-site for walk-through, questions and handing out CDs with plans and specifications.
  • Project Bidding: review plans and request any additional information from the architect.
  • Follow up with subcontract and material bidders to ensure bid coverage. Review and qualify returned bids.

Pre-Construction:

  • Create job information packet and disperse to General Superintendent.
  • Prepare preliminary estimates during the design phase of work. Coordination of drawings and design of the professionals involved in the project.
  • Consult with the General Superintendent to prepare a project construction schedule and submit to Senior Management for approval.
  • Receive the bids, analyze, and consult with Senior Management before award of subcontracts.
  • Write all contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.

During Construction:

  • Procure, receive, track, distribute, seek approval as necessary, and approve shop drawing and submittals.
  • Maintain the shop drawing log showing items submitted, date submitted, date approved, and date returned to subcontractor.
  • Expedite the approval process as to not delay job progress.
  • Maintain a record of field work orders and change orders and their impact upon job cost and the construction schedule.
  • Process all RFIs. Confer with the General Superintendents daily regarding problems that may arise.
  • Visit jobsites to verify construction schedule and quality management.
  • Review and submit weekly schedules and 2-week look ahead schedules.

Qualifications

Qualifications: - Preferred: Graduate with Construction Management and/or Business Administration degree - 3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating - Moderate travel will be required - Proficient at blue print reading - this will be confirmed during interview process - Experience with estimating, writing detailed scopes of work, submittals, change order prices - Ability to succeed under high stress and short time frames - Outstanding planning and organizational skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Procore

Required experience:

  • Commercial General Contracting: 3 year
