About Drillco

Drillco is a proudly NZ-owned civil construction company specialising in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and trenching for underground utilities, including power, gas, water, and fibre. With our TrafficWorx and Locate IT divisions, we offer a full suite of services, ensuring seamless project execution.

This role is for a reticulation project on the Kaiwakawe Wind Farm, where Drillco is committed to delivering high-quality work, on time and on budget, using the best equipment in the industry.

A General Hand is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Drillco construction project. Duties involve performing a variety of tasks as directed, manual and equipment assisted, to ensure the project is completed to a high standard and according to plan.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Perform manual tasks (lifting, carrying, excavation, drilling) and operate basic tools and vehicles under supervision and within competence and licensing.
• Follow SOPs, procedures, and inspection checklists.
• Complete duties as directed to support team and project goals.
• Work professionally and collaboratively with team and contractors.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures, accurately and promptly reporting hazards or near misses.

• Previous experience in a construction environment and/or a willingness to learn!
• High school diploma or equivalent (desired).
• Approachable, personable team player with a can-do attitude.
• Physical strength and stamina for manual labour

• NZ Full Driver’s License, Class 1
