Primary Purpose
- Install, repair, and maintain all types of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration equipment to ensure proper quality in all district facilities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/License
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Drivers License and MVR driving record check – must meet eligibility requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance if required for job performance.
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic controls
- Knowledge of low-pressure boilers and pumps
- Able to do some sheet metal work
- Able to read extensive wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of basic techniques of hand tools, small power tools such as hand drills and saws, and proper use of ladders
Experience
- Requirement determined by supervisor
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Respond to emergencies after hours, weekends, and holidays with little notice or no notice.
- Diagnosis refrigeration mechanical failures and scope of repair.
- Recommend and perform repairs of refrigeration equipment.
- Recommend and assist in scheduling repair with contracted vendors when scope is beyond in-house capabilities.
- Be observant in buildings and report any safety hazards.
- Recommend supplies, equipment and parts for purchase.
- Assist other Child Nutrition team members in the repair and installation of equipment.

- Including but not limited to hand tools, small power tools, air conditioning gauges, volt, ohm, amp meter, ladders, and all other related refrigeration equipment and tools
