About the role:

The Project Manager is responsible for overall planning and delivery of Juniper's Professional Service contract with major customers in the region, being responsible for managing deliverables and project financials, including maintaining control over project budget and properly forecast project expenditures. This role will be a key member of the delivery, working collaboratively with internal resources, contractors and 3rd party service providers. 

The Project Manager will also represent Juniper in front of the customer directly and is responsible to meet C-Sat KPIs. A successful candidate will also be able to track and measure customer satisfaction in these areas via regular QBR with Customer and Internal Stakeholders. The projects will likely use both Waterfall and Agile approaches dependent on the specific customer requirements and the delivery/development teams involved.

 

Role requirements: 

  • Experience and understanding of Service Management and tools e.g. ServiceNow 
  • Defining roles and responsibilities for the project team and ensuring they are carried out 
  • Ensures speed, quality and shared vision by getting the right people involved in decision making 
  • Assertive and proactive in driving and making decisions, considering the downstream and upstream effects of potential decisions 
  • Influences the thinking or gains the acceptance of others in sensitive/conflict situations
  • Leads change initiatives 
  • Recognizes and works through resistance or setbacks 
  • Can assess scope, recognize requirements gaps and drive the process to resolve them
  • Strong planning skills; can create work breakdown structure, assist in estimation, validate estimate confidence and then consolidate into a schedule 
  • Can optimize the critical path 
  • Can identify problems, chose and execute a solution, and escalate if necessary 
  • Identifies active project risks, monitors for risk triggers, and executes contingency plans 
  • Recognizes changes in scope and can drive scope-versus-schedule/budget discussions to conclusion 
  • Can negotiate for the right resources (people, dollars, equipment, etc.) to be assigned to the project; understands an organization’s portfolio of projects 
  • Recognizes variance between plan and actual results along multiple dimensions (scope, schedule, quality, risks) and can take action to correct 
  • Can utilize estimating techniques to improve future project planning 
  • Assertive and communicative across multiple functional or organizational levels
  • Track record of project achievements and references

 

Required skills:

  • Project Management experience of more than 5 years with external customer exposure
  • Experience of running projects in Telecom industry, either from Equipment Manufacturer, System Integrator or Service Provider side 
  • Preferred technology experience in IP networking, Network Security, Mobility, Cloud, Data Center Technologies, SDN
  • Solid understanding of project management processes like scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, risk and change management and  tools used to manage them
  • Strong planning skills, able to identify issues and drive them to closure. Can-do attitude
  • Attention to details and capacity to prepare lesson learnt
  • Experience of building and managing successful project teams across both the customer and vendor/3rd party organizations. Experience in geographically distributed projects with both onsite and remote resources. Used to working in a matrix organization
  • Customer focused, with excellent inter-personal and communication skills at all level. Assertive and proactive in driving and making decisions. Able to lead change initiatives, work thru conflicts and resistances by gaining trust and acceptance of others 
  • Fosters an environment that encourages constructive debate and collaboration
  • Managed Services and/or Systems Integration experience
  • Prince 2 / PMP / Scrum Master certifications desirable
  • Fluency in English language and native level in Italian language is a must
  • Ability to travel to customer location on a regular basis
