    SALARY SCHEDULE:

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:
     
    Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial ice machines, walk-in and reach-in coolers, freezers, and all hot equipment in a commercial kitchen.
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:
     
                 Certification/Education:
     
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and meet/maintain insurance requirements of PISD.
    • Must pass a drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
    • Must pass criminal history check.
     
                  Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience:    
     
    • Demonstrate general knowledge of the operation, maintenance, installation, and repair of work-related systems of the designated craft.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work unsupervised.
    • Hold EPA Certification in refrigerant recovery
    • General knowledge of tools used in the designated craft.
     
    • Demonstrate ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
    • At least 2 years of job-related experience or 1 year of experience with 15 hours of technical courses related to the designated craft
     
     
    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
     
    • Assist with installation, maintenance and repair of commercial ice machines and other commercial kitchen equipment.
    • Assist with the repairs of refrigeration equipment such as compressors, motors, and other related equipment under the supervision of a licensed HVAC technician.
    • Completes preventative maintenance of equipment as assigned.
    • Must have a working knowledge of computer systems in regards to email, tickets, and time entry systems.
    • Completes tickets as requested. 
    • Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies.
    • Assist other crafts as needed
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions
     
                Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
     
    Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting must have the use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
