Job Description

Job Opportunity: Assistant Project Manager 

We are currently seeking on behalf of our clients an Assistant Project Manager to join our international drillship reactivation project. This is a consultancy position offering the opportunity to work on high-specification offshore assets within a dynamic and multicultural environment.

Role Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of the drillship reactivation program. The role involves both offshore and onshore responsibilities, with close coordination between subject matter experts, project teams, and management.

Core Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce adherence to safe work systems and practices to mitigate risks for personnel and contractors.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, guidelines, industry practices, regulations, and legislation.
  • Contribute to project goals and departmental objectives by actively participating in meetings and providing progress/status updates.
  • Develop and maintain accurate asset identification and criticality assessments, supported by documentation for system components.
  • Update and manage the work breakdown structure (WBS) to reflect planned activities.
  • Prepare high-level and detailed scopes of work (SOW) including inspection, maintenance, repair, modification, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to avoid conflicts between operational activities and project schedules.
  • Support budgeting and procurement processes by working with the Supply Chain Specialist.
  • Generate and issue material and service requisitions with the required technical specifications.
  • Escalate quality and safety concerns promptly to the QHSE Specialist.
  • Manage engineering-related issues using technical queries and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain project reports and assist Project Support Specialists with documentation uploads into the CMMS.
  • Review OEM documentation and product information bulletins (PIBs) to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Assistant Project Manager – Specific Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Project Managers.
  • Coordinate and align Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) leading reactivation activities onboard drilling ships.
  • Ensure effective organization and follow-up of reactivation tasks across multiple teams.
  • Act as a communication bridge between project managers and SMEs to maintain smooth execution.

Assignment & Mobility

  • Initial Assignment: Duty station onboard a drillship in Singapore.
  • Following Assignment: Project continues on a second drillship located in Mersin/Tasucu, Turkey.
  • Future Mobility: Location expected to shift in line with vessel movements, with upcoming assignments most likely in Mersin/Tasucu and Zonguldak/Filyos, Turkey.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in offshore/marine/oil & gas projects (ideally within project management support or coordination).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to work in rotational offshore assignments and relocate based on project needs.

Contract Details

  • Consultancy position.
  • Rotational schedule: 6 weeks on / 4 weeks off.
